Historic Urban Plans

Issued in 1655 by Nicholas Visscher, this map was the first to include an inset view of New Amsterdam showing the town as it existed about five years earlier. Our facsimile is from the third state published after 1682 with some additions to the body of the map but with the view unaltered.
