Omaha Date: 1868
A year before the completion of the Union Pacific railroad this thriving Nebraska city that had been designated as the line's eastern terminus was enjoying a land boom that extended its grid of streets from the banks of the Missouri River almost to the horizon.

Oregon City Date: 1858
Settlement began at the falls of the Willamette River as early as 1832 with the construction of a flour and sawmill. Surveyed years later at the request of Dr. John McLoughlin of the Hudson Bay Company, Oregon City served at the first territorial capital.
