St. Louis 1874 – Museum Series

$40.00

This splendidly colored lithograph was published by Currier and Ives to coincide with the opening of the Eads Bridge across the Mississippi. A legend at the bottom locates major buildings throughout the city. The foreground detail is particularly important for its depiction of the busy steamboat landing and the blocks along the river that were cleared sixty years later to create a national park.

This large edition of the view highlights the quality of its fine coloring.
