Printed in Germany from a view drawn by Herman Lungkwitz, this lithograph shows the city as seen by a visitor arriving at its outskirts. The border views of the Alamo, the main plaza, and the missions in the vicinity recall the origins of what had been the chief Spanish settlement in Texas. This slightly reduced, colored facsimile faithfully duplicates the attractive character of this very scarce print.
The museum quality edition of this view is printed on a heavy cover stock paper to highlight the delicate coloring of this fine engraving.
