Upon the death in 1492 of Lorenzo the Magnificent, the last of the de Medici, this fortified city was one of wealth and refinement. Fine palaces, architecturally detailed well-finished religious buildings, and impressive civic structures and bridges can be identified. Another in the series found in Hartman Schedel’s Liber Cronicarum, also known as the Nuremberg Chronicle.
